In retrospect, it feels almost serendipitous that both Michael and Marlena ended up at the University of Kansas. He, from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and she, from Denver, Colorado, neither one planned on Kansas — it just happened.What began as casual conversation led to a night at The Cave (iykyk) and, by December, exclusive. On January 18, 2016, after winter break, Mike officially asked Marlena to be his girlfriend.﻿That iconic black-and-white photo? Totally candid. Mike’s friends thought they were being sneaky, but ended up capturing the very start of the journey. Score.

EVENT INFORMATION: Friday night: yes, we’ll kick things off, denim encouraged. Saturday day: lounge by the pool, soak up the California sun.Wedding starts at 4 PM.Afterparty: 10 PM – 1 AM.

DRESS CODE: Friday: Denim Party Denim is the dress code. Think elevated, effortless, and ready for a fun night of celebrating. Saturday: California Formal Not quite black tie, but a step above cocktail attire. Think polished yet relaxed: suits (no tuxedos required) and long dresses are encouraged. Black is always classic, but floral and colorful dresses are absolutely welcome.
